Welcome to the PMC Franklin Kids Ride!

Our Mission:

The PMC Kids Ride gives us the opportunity to work together with the Franklin community and make a significant impact in the fight against cancer. We have all been touched in some way with someone who has had cancer. This ride gives children an opportunity to feel that they can make a difference. It empowers kids to become part of the Pan Mass Challenge (PMC) mission of raising money for cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through its Jimmy Fund. This ride also teaches children the value of riding for the benefit of others.

Pre-Registration will be held at the Adirondack Club in Franklin from 8-11am. You will receive your group, your rider number, t-shirt and goodie bag.

1.  10 Miles - This route takes you through the backroads of Franklin behind Jefferson/Remington School.  This is a more challenging ride with at least 2 big hills.  This ride is for those who are comfortable on their bikes.  There will be groups of about 10 with 2 or 3 adult volunteers leading the group.  Bicycles with training wheels are not allowed.  For safety reasons, just riders and their group volunteers are allowed on this course.  Riders who are not registered should not be riding with groups.

2.  6 Miles -  This route is a shorter version of the 10 mile route.  You will only be riding up the big hill once. As with all road rides, bicycles with training wheels are not allowed.   Each 6 mile group of about 10 riders will also go out with group volunteers leading their groups.  Riders who are not registered should not be riding with groups.

3.  3 Miles - This route will take you on the same route as the 10 and 6 miles but it loops back around to Jefferson School and it is all flat roads. Training wheels are not allowed on this ride.  There will be groups of 10 with group volunteers leading the way.  Riders who are not registered should not be riding with groups.

4. Tikes & Trikes  - This is a loop around the parking lot for those who are not experienced riders, usually ages 6 and under ride here.  It is a supervised course with lots of fun activities along the way.  Big wheels, tricycles, training wheels and scooters are allowed on this course.

Helmets are required for all riders!

To participate in this event, each rider is required to raise a minimum of $30.  We have lots of fundraising ideas to help you reach this goal.  Friends and family can donate directly to your ride page.  This page is developed by you where you can write about why you are riding and set goals right to your ride page.  This also has a link you can share so you can receive direct donations.
Raise $300 to join the "Heavy Hitter" Club.
Raise $800 to join the elite group of Breakaways.  You will receive a special New Balance Backpack and be part of a special fundraising group.

We have lots of ways you can volunteer for our ride.  We need Group leaders to ride with our riders.  Group leaders are responsible for 10 riders.  We have a group leader in the front and back of each team.  We also have volunteers to help out at our raffle table, or our food table.  We also have lots of volunteers at our Tikes and Trikes area to help with face painting or at one of our many stations we have set up.  Adults and kids age 14 and up can volunteer.

Sponsorships are essential to our Ride's success.  Your sponsorship can help us reach our goals.  Last year we raised $57,000 and with your help, our goal this year is $60,000.  Your contribution will go directly to life-saving research and treatment at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.  Sponsorship will show your support to our Franklin community and the fight against cancer.

As a sponsor, we will put your business in front of more than 500 event attendees and the Franklin community.   We are gratefully accepting individual and corporate donations and items to be included in the raffle on the day of the ride. To make an item donation, please contact Lisa at .
All sponsorships are listed on the right hand side of this page.
