WELCOME TO THE NEWTON PMC KIDS RIDE!

The Newton PMC Kids Ride is back and better than ever! Please join us on Sunday, May 20th 2018 for a morning of fun, philanthropy and celebration to support the Pan-Mass Challenge, the Dana Farber and the Jimmy Fund!

Newton as a community has a strong presence in the adult PMC ride with over 300 registered riders. The PMC Kids Ride complements this as a great way to get kids involved with the PMC and fundraising for a good cause. We’re expecting a morning of fun and excitement and hope you’ll be part of the ride and fun activities, food and entertainment to follow!

ROUTES:
The Newton Ride offers two routes for kids of different ages and abilities. Helmets are required for all riders, no exceptions.

One-mile Loop: A one-mile loop has been created around Wells Avenue beginning at the parking lot at 180 Wells Avenue. This option is available for riders on two-wheeled pedal bikes. Riders have the opportunity to do as many laps as they want in the one-hour allotted time. For the safety of all riders, this loop is designed for bicycles only and not for kids on tricycles, scooters, or kids that need adult assistance. There will be several volunteers stationed along the course, and we ask that parents stay off this course for safety reasons.

Tot Loop: Located within the parking lot at 180 Wells Ave, this is the perfect option for our younger crowd and those needing assistance with riding. Kids can take as many loops along this route as they would like.

REGISTRATION & FUNDRAISING:
Registration for the event can be done here . Please indicate which ride your child will be participating in.

To participate, each rider is required to raise a minimum of $30 for the PMC, though $50 is the suggested goal. Kids can seek donations from friends, family, neighbors etc. Some have set up lemonade stands, bake sales and other creative activities to raise money for the event. The PMC has a fundraising tips page which is a great resource with ideas on how your kids can meet their goal.

Ambitious fundraisers can aim for the Heavy Hitter level (over $300 raised) and the Breakaway level (over $800 raised) which will be recognized with a gift from the PMC.

Note that the PMC is a 501(c)3 organization and 100% of every dollar raised by the PMC go directly to the DFCI/Jimmy Fund.
