In April of 2010, Westwood resident, Alexa Kelly was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia at the age of 5. Alexa's Awesome Obstacle Course was established in her honor to enable younger kids to participate in the fun, community-building and fund-raising of the PMC Westwood Kids Ride. With her 2-year battle behind her, Alexa is enjoying 2nd grade at the Deerfield school and living life to the fullest - even is she is missing a few teeth! She plans to ride with friends & family this year, and will then join in the fun & games at the Obstacle Course dedicated to her courageous battle.
* Westwood gym teacher, Mr. Pat Foley, will return again this year to run Alexa's Awesome Obstacle Course, along with many WHS students.
* At 9:15, just after the 'big' kids have taken off on their bikes, the fun & games will begin. All toddlers and siblings (under 7) are welcome to participate in the supervised games on the field. There is no need to register but donations will be accepted at the entrance.
* All riders (up to age 7) are welcome to join in the fun upon their return from the 1-mile kids loop. Refreshments will be available on the field.
